Application Instructions:
Surface Preparation
Remove loose and flaking pavement or gravel from area to be filled and redirect traffic until the repair is completed. For best results, square out area to be patched with a #400 asphalt chisel and hammer (available from Superior Industries).
Where no asphalt base is present, lightly spray ST-77 Surface Treatment into area where Surface Pro 600 will be used (NOTE: one aerosol can of ST-77 is included with each unit of Surface Pro 600). Allow ST-77 to cure for approximately 5 minutes.
Scoop Surface Pro 600 from pail and place in hole, filling the hole approximately 25% higher than the surrounding area. Compact aggregate by tamping down with the back of a shovel or using the #71-LD Hand Tamp (also available from Superior Industries). For larger areas, place plywood over filled area and drive over it with vehicle, firmly packing Surface Pro 600. For areas in need of repair deeper than 3 inches, apply patch approximately 2-3 inches thick, compact and repeat in 2-3 inch layers until hole is filled.
Once tamped, Surface Pro 600 is ready for immediate foot and heavy traffic. All patches must be allowed to cure a minimum of 30 days (or up to 90 days depending on weather) prior to application of seal coat.
When repairing large asphalt cracks, pour Surface Pro 600 into cracks and spread with a squeegee to prevent overfilling. Then compact material with a tamp.
Precautions
When transporting this product, ensure that lid is tight and pail secured. Do not allow pail to tumble, as this may cause lid to loosen and leakage to occur.
