Technical Data

VersaCrete

VersaCrete is a 100% solids, two component, equal volume mix, aggregate filled epoxy mortar. VersaCrete is a non-sag gel with excellent adhesion, physical properties, and ease of use as a versatile, general purpose adhesive mortar that can even be placed on vertical and overhead surfaces.

USES

  • Mortar/adhesive for general repair and maintenance.
  • Filler for cracks, voids and other defects in concrete and other masonry surfaces.
  • Adhesive to join concrete to concrete or other masonry surfaces.
  • Long Term Repair for Concrete Pipe, Steel Pipe, Drainage Tiles etc.
  • Adhesive to attach tiles, glass, sanitary coving file and other materials to wall or floor surfaces where high strength bond is required.
  • Forming coves at juncture of floor and walls in below grade waterproofing.
  • Adhesive for setting dowels, bolts and rebars.

ADVANTAGES

  • Easy to use 1:1 by volume mix ratio.
  • Non-sag for vertical and overhead applications.
  • Color coded to ensure thorough mixing.
  • 100% solids, conforms to VOC regulations.
  • High strength.
  • Moisture insensitive.
  • Non shrinking.
  • Excellent adhesion.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Surface must be clean and free of any dust, oil, grease, laitance, curing compounds or any other contaminants. This should be achieved by sand blasting, water blasting or some other mechanical means. New concrete surfaces may be acid etched with muriatic acid and rinsed thoroughly. The surface must be dry or damp, and must be free of standing water.

MIXING AND APPLICATION

Stir both A & B components before mixing together. Mix equal volumes of Part A and Part B. Mix thoroughly with a heavy duty, low speed drill fitted with a mixing paddle. Mix until a uniform gray color with no streaks is evident. Be sure to scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing pail. Do not mix more material than can be used in 40 minutes. Apply mixed material by trowel, spatula or putty knife. When used as adhesive, cover both surfaces when possible and then bring into intimate contact. Remove excess before curing. When used as a mortar on vertical and overhead patches, limit depth of patch to 1/2-1' to prevent sagging. Allow first layer to set before applying additional material. When used on floors, fill holes up to 4' deep in one layer. Avoid feather-edging. For smooth finish, keep tools lightly 'wetted' with mineral spirits.

LIMITATIONS

  • Do NOT apply when temperature is below 50°F.
  • Do NOT apply to latex modified mortar or concrete.

CLEAN UP

  • Clean tools and equipment immediately with a suitable solvent such as xylene or lacquer thinner.
