Application Instructions:

Note: NOTE: Traction ProGrip 900 is effective on many other surfaces; consult our Technical Department for your specific application requirements.

Preparation

To insure proper adhesion, make sure the application surface is clean and dry before applying Traction ProGrip 900 (see instructions below for specific surface preparation). To create the proper profile, use a 60 to 100 grit sanding disc. Masking tape should be applied before application to ensure a uniform appearance.

The following procedures should be followed without exception.

Aluminium

Clean surface thoroughly using a water soluble degreaser. Rinse and allow to dry thoroughly. Abrade surface with a 40 to 60 grit carbide sand disc.

Brick

Clean surface thoroughly using a water soluble degreaser. Rinse and allow to dry overnight before applying Traction ProGrip 900 (brick should be installed in a suitable base not subject to hydrostatic pressure/ underside moisture).

Cinder Block (See Brick Prep)

Concrete

Clean surface thoroughly using a water soluble degreaser. Rinse and allow to dry. Abrade surface with a 60 grit sanding disc or acid etch with an inhibited hydrochloric acid solution. Our 'CRX' is the recommended choice. Thoroughly rinse and allow to dry overnight before applying Traction ProGrip 900. Use a rotary floor machine with steel brushes for cleaning when possible.

Diamond Plate (See Aluminum Prep)

Fiberglass

Steel (See Aluminum Prep)

Wood (Cured)

Clean surface thoroughly using a water soluble degreaser. Rinse and allow to dry overnight or until wood is completely dry before applying Traction ProGrip 900. Do Not Apply Traction ProGrip 900 to green or uncured wood surfaces

Application

Traction ProGrip 900 epoxy consists of two parts, a resin and a catalyst. Pour the catalyst into the resin and mix thoroughly for approximately 2-3 minutes. The pot life of mixed material is approximately 15 minutes and should be emptied from can as quickly as possible and spread evenly. Use masking tape to outline application area before applying to ensure a uniform appearance. Apply and spread mixed Traction ProGrip 900 with a 3/8 inch nap roller cover.

Broadcast the aggregate (included) into wet substance to the point of rejection. After approximately 8 to 10 hours, sweep away excess aggregate.

Cure for 6-8 hours and then sweep away any excess aggregate before opening the surface to traffic. Once cured, Traction ProGrip 900 can be cleaned with a semi-stiff brush and/or a pressure washer.
