Low Viscosity Epoxy Primer

#1107 Epoxy Primer

Excellent Penetration & Superior Adhesion

Forms A Tough, Flexible Film

Moisture Tolerant & Stress Relieving

#1107 Epoxy Primer is a premium, two component, low viscosity epoxy primer. When dry, this primer forms a tough but flexible film over the substrate, creating an ideal surface for coatings to adhere to. This high solids primer offers excellent penetration which results in superior adhesion.

Formulated with special moisture tolerant properties and stress relieving properties, #1107 Epoxy Primer is intended for use as a professional quality primer for epoxy and urethane coatings. It is especially ideal for use as a primer wherever there is a concern of UV exposure. And, featuring very low VOC’s, low tensile modulus, and high tensile elongation, #1107 Epoxy Primer is a resilient primer that will ensure strong adhesion for epoxy and urethane coatings.

This epoxy primer may also be used as a stand alone coating when desired and can be pigmented with any of our UR-4 Color Additives.

Available In 3 Gallon Kits & 15 Gallon Kits

Two Components:

  • Resin & Hardener | High Solids
  • Low Tensile Modulus | High Tensile Elongation

#1107 Epoxy Primer is available in both 3 gallon kits and 15 gallon kits.  The 3 gallon kit has an oversized resin container for easy mixing; The 15 gallon kit requires mixing in a separate container. The approximate coverage range of #1107 Epoxy Primer is 160-320 sq ft (14.9-29.7 sq m) per mixed gallon at 5-10 mils wet film thickness.  Note that the actual coverage of this low viscosity epoxy primer will vary based on how porous the floor is. #1107 Epoxy Primer is a clear liquid, but it can be used in conjunction with epoxy color additives if pigmentation is desired.

Instructions: We recommend that you thoroughly read all application instructions on the product label before applying #1107 Epoxy Primer. Because surface preparation is important to successful adhesion, be sure the application surface is sound, clean, level, and dry before you begin application. The mixing ratio by volume is two parts resin to one part hardener (2:1 by volume). If using with an epoxy color additive for pigmentation, follow mixing directions on the additive’s product label. Pour the hardener (Part “H”) into the can of resin (Part “R”) and mix with a low speed jiffy mixer for 2-3 minutes or until fully blended. Mix only what will be used within the product’s pot life. Apply after mixing with a trowel, roller, or squeegee by pouring a ribbon-like bead of primer onto the application surface. Recoat within 6 to 24 hours, or, if more than 24 hours has elapsed, lightly sand before adding further coats.

Do not apply #1107 Epoxy Primer is the surface temperature is not between 60°F (15.5°C) and 85°F (30°C).  Do not use a thinner. Do not immerse this low viscosity epoxy primer or use where moisture can get in below the resurfacer. #1107 Epoxy Primer is not intended for use on exterior, on-grade substrates.
