DBA 700

DESCRIPTION:

DBA 700 is a two component, 100% solids, rapid setting, non-abrasive, high modulus epoxy gel. DBA 700 is designed for use with meter mix pumping equipment or is packaged in easy-to-use two component cartridges. DBA 700 is color-coded to assure that mixing is complete.

USES:

  • Grout for dowel bars, rebars and anchor bolts in concrete for load bearing applications.
  • Bonding hardened concrete and other materials to hardened concrete.
  • Binder for epoxy mortars.
  • Sealing cracks and adhering ports for crack injection.

ADVANTAGES:

  • Rapid set for early strength.
  • Moisture insensitive - may be applied to dry or damp concrete or in humid conditions.
  • Color-coded for error-free mixing.
  • 100% solids, conforms to VOC regulations.
  • Conforms to Grade 3, Class A, Type I, IV, & V of ASTM C-881.
  • Non-abrasive.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

All concrete surfaces to be bonded should be dry for best results. However, a damp surface dry condition is acceptable. Surfaces must be free of standing water. Mechanical scarifying to remove laitance or other foreign materials will result in optimum bond. Drill holes must be air blasted to remove residual dust. Steel dowel bars must be free of rust and oily substances. Sand blast or wire brush to white metal.

MIXING AND APPLICATION:

DBA 700 packed in containers should be inspected for settling. The individual components should be mixed prior to combining them or charging them into the compartments of dispensing equipment. Check dispensing equipment for correct 1:1 by volume mix ratio. Mixed products should be a homogeneous gray color with no black or white streaks. If mixing DBA 700 by hand, combine part A and part B in equal volumes. Do not mix more than can applied in five (5) minutes. Inject dowel hole to half its depth with mixed epoxy. Insert the dowel bar with a twisting motion to coat the bar and then push it to the bottom of the hole. Use only enough material to cause a slight run off to the face of the hole when the dowel or anchor has been placed. When used as a surface sealer or adhering injection ports, apply with trowel or spatula. Injection can commence once DBA 700 is sufficiently cured. For epoxy mortar, mix 1 volume of clean, dry sand to 1 volume of mixed DBA 700. Apply by trowel to prepared substrate.

LIMITATIONS:

  • Do NOT apply when temperature is below 33°F.
  • Do NOT apply to latex modified mortar or concrete.

CLEAN UP:

Clean tools and equipment immediately with a suitable solvent such as xylene or lacquer thinner.

PACKAGING:

  • 2 component dual cartridges
  • 2 gallon kits
  • 10 gallon kits
  • 100 gallon kits

CAUTION:

For professional use only. Epoxy systems can cause delayed dermatitis. Avoid prolonged contact with skin. See Material Safety Data Sheet for proper handling and required safety equipment.

To determine the amount of epoxy grout required, subtract the column of blot diameter from the volume of the drilled hole diameter and multiply by the depth in inches. The result will be in cubic inches. Divide by 231 (cubic inches per gallon). The result will be the number of gallons required.

Example:

There are 93 holes 25 inches deep. The hole diameter is 1-3/8 inches and the bold diameter is 1-1/8 inches. From the chart above, find the volumes and subtract.

Diameter of Hole 1-3/8'Volume Per Inch  1.525
Diameter of Bold 1-3/8'Volume Per Inch -1.025
 0.500
Multiply 0.5 X 25 X 93 = 1,162.5 Cubic Inches
Divide by 231 = 5.03 Gallons
