VSG-77 is a specially compounded, highly stable, silicone valve stem grease / lubricant. Compounded with the finest ingredients available, VSG-77 is a professional quality, heavy-consistency silicone paste. Because it employs a special silicone compound, VSG-77 is the most stable lubricant available on the market today. This grease-like paste is the lubricant of choice for valves of all varieties, including: ball valves, plug valves, butterfly valves, automated valves, gate valves, and also rubber and plastic O-rings. Proper valve lubrication is important to the long life of your equipment, and VSG-77 is formulated to help extend that life.

VSG-77 can be used on valve stems carrying hot water, cold water, air, or steam. Its heavy-consistency silicone lubrication assures free movement of parts.

VSG-77 can also be used to seal vacuum and pressure systems. Because sealing vacuum and pressure systems is especially necessary when those systems are outdoors (and are thus subjected to harsh environments and periodic to frequent washing), VSG-77, which is a moisture resistant lubricant and sealant, is the product of choice for this type of outdoor equipment maintenance.

VSG-77’s moisture and ozone resistance allow it to keep unwanted dampness at bay, which protects your expensive equipment from moisture-related harm. VSG-77 can be used almost anywhere moisture resistant grease is needed. In addition to all of its previously noted usages, VSG-77 can also be used as damping medium for dash pots in electrical equipment. Silicone fluids, such as VSG-77, are the primary damping medium for dash pots because of their stable viscous properties.

This valve stem grease / lubricant creates a moisture barrier that does not cure. Unlike ordinary greases, VSG-77 will not melt. This noncuring, nonmelting material has a wide temperature range of -40°F to 400°F (-40°C to 200°C), giving it a wide range of applications as well. Combining low volatility with high dielectric strength, VSG-77 is formulated to handle even heavy duty lubrication jobs. This valve stem grease / lubricant has a dielectric strength of 400 volts/mil, or >450 (volts/mil with 50 mil gap). 

Noncuring | Nonmelting

VSG-77 is available in 14 ounce (397 gram) cartridges and 48 pound containers. It is a white / translucent semi-solid, and it has a worked penetration of 260 max (with an unworked penetration of 175-210). VSG-77 can be applied by wiping, brushing, or automated equipment. This valve stem grease / lubricant is not soluble in water but is soluble in hydrocarbon solvents. VSG-77 contains good thermal, oxidative chemicals such as liquid chlorine and liquid oxygen (unless evaluated prior to use). Note that this product may react with strong oxidizing agents such as chlorates, nitrates, peroxides, etc.
